Objective:

Conveying the strength of Charmin Ultra Strong and softness of Charmin Ultra Soft to consumers through storytelling and design

Aspirational consumer experience

In order to create visually appealing products that matched the performance of Charmin Strong and Soft, we drew inspiration from the bed and bath environment. Our goal was to use patterning to seamlessly convey both the functionality and the tactile delight of Charmin bath tissue.

To achieve this, we created aspirational image boards to gain a deeper understanding of consumer preferences and needs within the bed and bath space.

During the design process, we undertook an extensive exploration of the material properties by constructing hundreds of functional prototypes. This iterative approach allowed us to delve into different possibilities explore new avenues for conveying both visual appeal and functionality.

Throughout the prototyping process, we designed with consideration for the manufacturing process, which played a crucial role in translating our design concepts into tangible products that could be profitably produced on a larger scale.

Feedback from user testing and market research played a vital role in shaping our design choices - the prototypes we created were used to evaluate user perceptions of the product and refine our design directions. This iterative process allowed us to ensure that the final design language aligned perfectly with our target audience's expectations.
